Merger Contracting was established in late 1994 with the purchase of a truck and trailer carting asphalt for Pioneer Road Services. Soon after two more trucks were purchased also for asphalt cartage with Emmoleum (now Downer EDI) and Boral Asphalt. During this period it was noticed that there was a hole in the asphalt laying industry as the larger companies struggled to keep up with the demand for asphalt laying crews and also the equipment to do the work.
Seeing this opportunity, Merger Contracting purchased an asphalt paving machine and formed a crew of experienced asphalters, a crew truck, rollers and the equipment to get one crew on the road quickly followed.
From these humble beginnings Merger Contracting has now progressed to being one of the biggest private asphalt laying companies in the state, boasting three experienced crews and with a fleet of equipment capable of carrying out major projects from start to final stage completion. Contracting our crews and equipment to the major companies and completing many major road projects as well as undertaking many major projects of our own.
We at Merger Contracting have not forgotten where we came from and we still take on heaps of private driveways, tennis courts, potholes, car parks, re-sheets and patching. We have also started a drainage crew with plenty of work in the metro shire.
