Why Choose Asphalt?

Dec 1, 2015 -- Posted by : admin

Asphalt, Bitumen, Tarmac, it is known by many names. So why would you choose Asphalt as the material of choice for your driveway.

  1. Its Good Looking – Asphalt gives a clean crisp look to your landscaping and with the right attention to edging materials can really give you the entry statement you have been dreaming of.
  2. Low Cost – Since asphalt driveways can be less expensive than concrete driveways, they’re a popular choice among homeowners who consider cost to be a primary factor. This is especially true for long driveways in suburban and rural areas or for people who are renovating for profit.
  3. Flexible Strength – Since asphalt driveways are not rigid, but retain some flexibility, even after curing, they are less easily damaged by sudden impacts. In addition, that flexibility helps to reduce temperature-induced cracking.
  4. Easier to Repair – If damage does occur, asphalt driveways are easier and less expensive to repair in most cases. Any cracks that appear can be sealed.
  5. Speed and Usability - An asphalt driveway can usually be laid in one or two days, depending on the size of the project. A concrete driveway can take as much as twice as long to pave as an asphalt driveway of the same size and dimensions.
  6. Lifespan: An asphalt driveway will last anywhere from 25 to 30 years with proper maintenance.
  7. Lower Maintenance Costs: Not only are asphalt driveways easier to repair, but the cost associated with doing so is typically lower than concrete repairs.

What Our Clients Say

KDJFC would like to thank Scott Chatwin, owner of Merger Contracting, who has been kind enough to install a Bitumen path free of charge at KDJFC. Scott has previously been a massive part of the Club as a long-time Coach and has always put his hand up to help out around the Club. His son Brandon finished his journey through the Club only a year or so ago. The bitumen path extends from the existing footpath behind the playground through to the back of the third Interchange box. The Club will now be able to adequately signpost/paint/fence off to ensure people use it rather than walking through current interchange, as it has created massive problems for Coaches and the Club in general. We take this opportunity to thank Scott and highly recommend his Business for any type of Bitumen paving/hard stand anyone may need at their home or Business.
